Have you ever known that you weren't supposed to do something...

Maybe you just started a new exercise program and you were supposed to go to the gym, but instead you find yourself parked in the driveway thinking about how you’ll go tomorrow. Maybe you are committed to dropping 10 pounds and only seem to remember that commitment when you reach the bottom of that chocolate milkshake. What in the world compels us to act in complete opposition to our decisions?

So many of us use our conscious mind to make a decision about something. We think, think, think about it. We focus on it tirelessly. We let the power of our thoughts send out powerful vibrations into the world. We spend time in meditation sending particle flow at it. In short, we use our mind to broadcast a frequency that matches what we want in life. But let me ask you this question.

What frequencies are you broadcasting out into the world at night while you are asleep? If your conscious mind is out of the picture at night, then what is in control of your broadcast? Thankfully, I asked this question years ago, and as I have learned and studied new research I have always run it through this filter. And here is the most simplistic answer I can give you.

It is your past. Kind of anti-climactic right? I know, but let me explain. When you combine the phylogenetic development of the human brain, with the spiritual teachings of the ancients, you come away with something simply elegant. You are literally wired to broadcast frequencies that match the memories you have stored in the subconscious brain. For this to make sense, I want you to understand 3 simple things:

1.The subconscious brain remembers everything. That’s right, every single tiny little thing that ever happened to you, EVER! It’s all in there, stored away in a pretty filing cabinet. Just like old tax records you have in the basement, these files are not read very often, but they are still part of your records system

2.The subconscious brain is what runs your body. You don’t have to think about digesting tacos after lunch. It happens automatically. You don’t need to think about producing new red blood cells. It is all mediated by your subconscious brain.

3.The subconscious brain houses a part of the anatomy called the Limbic Brain, or Emotional Brain. This area is in charge of assigning emotional value to situations so we can rank how important they are. Every experience in our life is given an emotional rating of sort and then stored in the database of memory.

So what does this all mean? Well, if you are trying to use your conscious mind to manifest a dream or goal, you may spend 1-2 hours a day with total focus. The rest of the day you are either doing something at your job, driving in traffic or asleep in bed. This means that 22-23 hours of the day you are not broadcasting the vibrations of your conscious goal, rather you are sending out the frequencies stored in your subconscious memory. It’s your past.

If you want to truly create a permanent change in your life, you should be asking the question “How can I speak the language of the subconscious and update the signals that it sends out?” Once we master this part of the equation, everything just gets easy. It becomes fun! It turns into a big game called life and remember, life is a game where you make the rules. Make them so that you can win!
