What's More Important Than...

In my opinion the top three most important things in life are Love, Health and Happiness. To me without those three things life is a struggle. Yet many people live their entire life looking for love and happiness in all the wrong places and according to the Center for Disease Control in the United States about 50% of our population have one or more chronic diseases and 8% on average are depressed.

When I think of health and what most experts recommend, I regularly hear about the importance of eating nutritious meals and exercising regularly. I agree that those two things are very important, but in my opinion the most important relates to our general feelings about ourselves and our health and well being.

If you truly want to be healthier and happier, you need to address your mind-set. This ranges from clearing old negative habits and thought patterns, to clearing old toxic feelings and emotions that easily get triggered. At the root of all illness are three things. 1) Blocked energy that is caused by repeated patterns, 2) old toxic feelings, such as anger, resentment, feelings of abandonment, guilt, fear, etc. 3) negative thought patterns that continue to help you stay stuck, because you already have proof that they are true.

What you focus on is what you create more of. It becomes a vicious cycle until you make a decision that you are not going to allow your unconscious and/or subconscious mind to rule your life. For example… I have a curved spine, it’s confirmed by an X-Ray. In addition to that my spine has arthritis, again according to the X-Ray. For years I bought into what the doctors told me. I took their medications and as my body got use to each pain med I reached for the next stronger med. Then one day I started having a major amount of stomach pain. The new diagnosis, ulcers, the treatment “Tagamet” and “Malox”.

That was my light bulb moment. I was on a crash course that wasn’t going to get better. I stopped all of the drugs and started looking at my mindset, and learned how to manage my pain by looking at the underlying causes of the problem, and healing each of those. Today, my spine is still curved, although straighter than it was when originally diagnosed and most days I am pain free.

This is just an example of how powerful our mind can be when it comes to our health. Do I eat healthy and exercise, yes of course. It’s not one or the other. From what I have learned and experienced over the years though, without the mind-set in alignment, it is doubtful that I would be eating as healthy as I do, or exercising, because I wouldn’t believe I was worth it.

The first thing that I recommend you work on, when it comes to any healing is to work on your self-love and self-worth. When you love yourself and believe you are worthy, the rest will come much easier for you to recognize and release. If you are having a health crisis, you may need to work on multiple areas at the same time, but if you aren’t in a crisis, I highly recommend that you start now to improve your self-love and self-worth.
