The Most Important Gift You Can Receive

What if I told you that the Most Important Gift You can Receive is the one gift most of us never get in a lifetime?  Most of us go through life looking for this gift in all the wrong places.  Do you know what gift I’m talking about?

You are the only one that can give yourself this gift? No other person can give this to you.  Yet, we look for this gift from everyone else.

The gift I’m talking about is Self-Love. Instead of loving ourselves we look for others to love us, affirm our self-worth and tell us how good or how important we are. The problem is that few people will do that, in fact, most of the people we attract to us just affirm what we already believe about ourselves.  And, those beliefs about ourselves are not typically very good.

You see most people believe one or more of the following about themselves and about Self-Love:

• God (the God of your understanding… i.e. source, spirit, universal intelligence, etc.) will punish me if I love myself
• It is selfish to Love Myself
• I’m not worthy of Love
• I’m just a F_ _ K up
• I’m worthless
• I’m not lovable
• I’m a bad person, I don’t deserve love
• and the list goes on…

If this is true for you, I have good news for you!

YOU ARE LOVABLE!  

YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED!  

GOD LOVES YOU WHETHER YOU LOVE YOURSELF OR NOT!

Here are just a few ways that you can stop beating yourself up, stop judging yourself and START LOVING YOURSELF!

A while back someone sent me an email that said something like:  “God doesn’t judge you, what makes you think you are better than God”. (author unknown). I certainly find myself judging my life and my mistakes, but each time I do, I think of this quote and I let go of that judgment. It’s actually quite simple to let go of the judgment…

First and foremost recognize that you are judging yourself.  Remember it’s a habit you’ve created to beat yourself up, so be patient with yourself and honor whatever time  it takes you to notice, by honoring the fact that you did notice. What’s important here is that you noticed, not how long it took before you noticed. As you do this more and more often the length of time to notice will become shorter and shorter.

Also, keep in mind that there is no “Right” or “Wrong” about this – it just is what it is.

So, I wanted to also give you a gift to get you on your path to self-love.  The symbol called Total and Complete Love. You deserve to be loved totally and completely.  Isn’t it time to stop judging yourself and start loving yourself instead.
