Short Cuts to Profoundly Changing Your Beliefs

I meet a lot of people who have done affirmations for a long period of time without great results if any improvement at all. I too struggled to get my affirmations to work. For a long time I found doing affirmation to be a hit or miss situation and I was puzzled as to why they worked sometime and yet didn’t other times. Here are a few tips that I have found to work effectively.

First and foremost, you’ll want to be sure your affirmations are starting where you are currently and bridging forward from there. This means you’ll need to determine what your core underlying belief is. You can read my previous article here for more details about discovering your core underlying beliefs. Let’s say that your currently underlying belief is that you aren’t smart enough to make money on the Internet.

Second, you’ll want to determine what you want to create, be as specific as possible. For example, if you are working to create more financial abundance in your life, what does that mean to you? Come up with the amount and frequency (i.e. $5,000 per month). Then determine how soon you want this to happen by. Make sure that these goals feel realistic to you. If they don’t then consider a smaller goal that builds toward the larger goal. For example, let’s say you want to start earning $5000 per month within the next year doing a business on the Internet. If you’ve never made money doing business on the Internet, then you would want to set some achievable goal that makes= sense and build from there. So, for this discussion, make it $500 per month with a 50% increase as soon as you hit your goal. Then set a time frame of 1 or 2 months to be making the $500 per month and 1 month later to reach the 2nd goal of $750 (50% increase). If you were able to consistently grow at 50% during a 4 month period you would be earning over $2500 per month at the end of 4th month (more than half way to your goal). Yet if you started out with the goal of $5000 you would probably struggle much more because you didn’t set benchmark goals, to celebrate the little successes along the way.

Third, you’ll want to create affirmations that begin from where you are at now and bridge them forward. Using our above example,  of having a core belief that you aren’t smart enough to make money on the Internet, here are some affirmations to help you bridge from your current beliefs to where you want to go.

  1. I desire to learn to make money on the Internet
  2. I deserve to learn to make money on the Internet
  3. I am able to learn to make money on the Internet
  4. I am easily able to to learn how to make money on the Internet
  5. Every day in every way I am learning more and more way to make money on the Internet
  6. Making money on the internet is becoming easier and easier every day.
  7. I desire to know that I am smart enough to learn anything I set my mind to learn.
  8. I deserve to know that I am smart enough to learn anything I set my mind to learn.
  9. I am smart enough to learn anything I set my mind to learn.
  10. I desire to receive at least $500 per month from my Internet business
  11. I deserve to receive at least $500 per month from my Internet business
  12. I am able to receive at least $500 per month from my Internet business
  13. I easily receive at least $500 per month from my Internet business

As you can see the affirmations are bridging from where you are forward to where you want to be for your first goal. Once you have reached the first goal you would only need to do the last 4 affirmation from the list above with a modified dollar amount of your next goal ($750). The rest of the affirmations have become part of your subconscious mind, along the way to achieving your goal of $500 per month.

You’ll want to be sure that your affirmations are written out clearly and positively. For example, if you notice above I did say I desire to earn at least $500 per month – but instead I said receive. Remember just because you earned $500 doesn’t mean you actually received it – so I highly recommend that you pay very close attention to the wording you use. Be sure to use positive words that are focused on the actual results you want. Eliminate words such as effortlessly, unconditional, limitless, etc from your affirmations and replace them with words such as easily and readily, total and complete and infinite. Keep in mind that the subconscious mind takes things literally and the stronger, more positive your wording is, the faster your end results will appear.

Fourth, Visualize. See yourself already making $500 per month. Visualize the increase in your Bank Account Balance, see yourself with 5 $100 bills. Immerse all of your senses into your visualization.

Fifth, say your affirmations with feelings.

Sixth, repeat each affirmations until it feels true to you before moving onto the next one.
