Tips for Finding Your Guru

I received an email the other day, from someone that many might be calling a “Guru”. This particular woman sends an email out regularly about Transmitting Light Energy to her followers for a fee. In this particular email she was actually offering Light Transmissions for Free at a location in her home town. I have nothing against healers and spiritual leaders transmitting energy or charging a fee, but when I know that the person is a con-artist who has literally ripped off dozens of people, including myself for thousands of dollars, I get upset.

My biggest concern with people like her, that claim they are a Guru is that many people get taken advantage of. I know I can’t protect everyone from these so-called Guru’s but I can do my part in teaching you how to find a Guru. I’ve learned from this experience to listen for guidance from my inner Guru and even ask for spiritual guidance to stop her before she does more harm. The most important thing here is for you to decide if what I am about to share is something you want to use or not.

Here’s a little background

In 2007, I received an email from the person mentioned above, I had been following her music/singing for some time and really enjoyed the benefits of listening to her positive music. She was looking for investors to help her reach a larger audience. The investor would receive a percentage of every sale of the product that they invested in. Although I didn’t have a lot of money, I thought it would be a source of some extra income for me, while helping others get the benefit of her already proven product. I knew that she was sharing the stage with some of the people in the movie “The Secret” and co-producing products with one of them, so I thought it would be a safe investment.

When I invested, I received a contract and the following month I got my first small check. I then continued to receive checks for the next couple of months. By that time I had introduced her to another friend, who invested as well, and she in turn introduced a friend of her’s. Shortly after that I stopped receiving payments and started getting the run around as did my friends.

Eventually, I started putting more pressure on her and she stopped responding completely. By that time another friend of mine had given her money as well. I didn’t invest because I thought she was a Guru, but she is now claiming to be a Guru and telling people she can transmit energy to solve their problems, when she has outright stole from others.

How to Find a Guru

The only real Guru is the Universal Intelligence/God Source. When you want true guidance I recommend that you get quiet, go inside, and ask for that guidance for your Inner Guru. Use your intuition as your Guru, instead of some outside source. That’s not to say that there aren’t real gurus that can help you, but what I am saying is that you need to discern whether that person is purely there to help you or just there to swindle you and make you believe they are your guru. Be careful who you allow to transmit energy to you. No matter who you hire for guidance and insights, and this includes me, it’s important to ask for guidance, to discern if what they have to offer you is in your highest good. If you wish to seek out energy healing or energy transmissions, tune in to be sure their energy is pure love and not pure greed. The key to real growth is to never give up your power to anyone, whether you think they are a Guru of not.
