Happy New Years 2021

Welcoming 2023

As you start off the New Year, now that all of the celebration part if behind us, I’d suggest that rather than making/breaking New Years Resolutions that you take time, if you haven’t already and do the following steps in a journal over the next couple of days.

welcome in the For me, I spent a lot of the year looking at the things I took for granted and kept reminding myself to cherish those things that are often forgotten or assumed will always be there.

Who Moved My CheeseIt was also a year that reminded me how few things we actually have control of and how much can change in an instance in our lives. In fact I recently re-read the book, Who Moved My Cheese, to consider how I react to or embrace change.

It’s a short book, 30-minute read, but very insightful and one that I believe can provide insight to anyone who is open to consider how well they deal with change and what they may want to change.

Having spent most of my adulthood as a computer program, systems designer and project manager, I learned at an early age to adapt quickly to change and be looking for change before it even showed up.

So, I was surprised how unprepared I was for a Pandemic to show up and change everything I had planned for 2020 but I discovered that even without being prepared I adapted quickly.

One of my favorite Affirmations is “Change is Good, Change is Necessary, Change Produces Results”. Keep in mind though if you have a root belief about change you’ll want to do some uprooting of that belief and affirmation bridging from that belief to make this affirmation really work well for you.

Butterfly

It was also a reminder to get serious about making myself and the things I love a priority, to cherish the gifts that we are all surrounded by in the world, such as the beautiful butterflies and dragon flies, ocean breezes, chirping birds, the sunset and sunrise, the moon and the stars. A group of Pelican’s flying in formation or a beautiful Blue Heron Standing on the Beach, like he/she owns the entire beach and so much more.

My wish for you is that you too can find the gifts that we are all blessed to receive that don’t cost us money!

A Song to Change the World

Co-founder of 10 Million Clicks for Peace, Rick Beneteau and his Long-Time Song Writing Friend, Larry Thompson, wrote and produced this wonderful song. I hope you enjoy it and will share it as well!

New Years Resolutions

One of my other insights this year was that whether I like it or not, I can plan all I want, make loads of New Years Resolutions, and sometimes all of those plans will go by the way side as your world is turned upside down. So, although I still do some form of resolutions like I offered a few years ago (traditional New Years Resolutions), I only make one resolution at a time, at various times of the year, along with the following simple daily resolutions (that I encourage all of us to make):

  1. Take time to truly feel the blessings of nature and the gifts that our creator gave us. These to me are worth far more than anything I can purchase.
  2. Send love, peace and healing to people around the world who are less fortunate than I am.
  3. Give gratitude for the things I have and feel the blessings of “Having” all of the money I need to do and have whatever I desire, including the money to help others. You can check out the book called Having that explains more about this here!
  4. Do something good for myself that feeds my soul.
