When it comes to getting lasting results for healing, it’s important that you
Find the Root Cause
Once you’ve begun to notice your negative self-talk and are more aware of those beliefs it’s time to find the underlying root cause. The underlying root causes are part of your beliefs, but at a much deeper level. The term I like to use here is “Core Beliefs”. What I mean by core beliefs are those beliefs that are deep seated and typically so ingrained they have become you and are less noticeable than the typical negative beliefs you identified in Part 1 of this series.
These core beliefs can be the root cause for ailments, relationship, prosperity and success issues as well as other issue in your life. These are the blocks that keep you from achieving your desires.
Examples of Root Cause Core Beliefs
The following examples may help you to understand what a root cause core belief is.
Example 1: After years of working on self-worth, self-love and self-esteem issues, repeating affirmations studing the art of positive thinking, and refining my affirmations to be sure they were strong and positive, my self-worth had improved minimally. That’s when I met my mentor, who worked with me to identify the Root Cause Core Belief that had kept me stuck. That belief was that, God Would Punish Me If I Loved Myself.
I can’t say where or how I got that belief, yet it was clear to me almost instantly upon learning it, that it was my root cause for attracting disrespect and abuse. I grew up going to Catholic Church and School, and I suspect that at some point I interpretted something one of the Nuns or Priest said to mean that God would punish me if I loved myself. You see much of what we are told is left up to our interpretation. Just like the biblical saying The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil, yet most of us have it wrong and say: Money is the Root of All Evil.
Example 2: I had a rash on my legs for several years. I saw a Dermotologist, made changes to my diet, laundry detergent, skin lotions, etc.The rash would briefly go away and then come back. I worked on the underlying root cause, found in the Louise Hay book Heal Your Body and did emotional healing along with affirmations, and nothing changed.
Then during a meditation, I remembered that my mother had a similar rash on her legs. After digging deeper I found a deep desire to be like my mother. The root belief was that I needed to be like my mother to be loved.
Once I realized the connection and worked on the issue by addressing that root cause core belief the healing happened almost immediately and the rash has never come back again.
Why Affirmations & Positive Thinking Don’t Always Work
If you have followed a solid method of using affirmations and not gotten the results you desire, than you’ll want to dig deeper to find that root cause core belief.
Imagine what would happen if you do the following daily affirmations, prior to discovering the root cause mentioned in example 1, above..
- I love myself totally and completely
- I love mysefl fully
- I love myself more and more every day
- Every day in every way I love myself more and more
- I love myself, all is well
Although the affiramtions are positive, your subconscious mind is saying something like… Really, Are You sure You Want to Love Yourself, God’s going to punish you if you do. So, you get mixed results if any results at all. The root cause must be addressed to achieve the results you desire.
Finding Your Root Cause Core Beliefs
To find the root cause core belief, take any of the negative beliefs you uncovered in Part 1 of this series spend 10-20 minutes per day writing in your journal as follows:
- Set aside a quiet time
- Have a pen and paper
- Light a candle or incense to set a relaxing atmosphere
- Open and balance your Chakras using the Krystagraph™, below and go into a meditative state.
- Ask for guidance as to what your deepest underlying root cause or core belief is that relates to the negative belief you have.
- Write anything that comes to you without judgment or censoring
